Welcome to our website
OPDAG is committed to socially responsible and ecologically sustainable production of palm oil in Ghana. Some of our leading members like GOPDC, NORPALM, TOPP, Wilmar Africa, and BOPP are RSPO certified including some of our outgrowers/smallholders. We subscribe to the Africa Palm Oil Initiative (APOI) of the TFA 2020. We have partnered with Solidaridad under their SWAPPI project in the development of Best Management Practice (BMP) for sustainable yield improvement by intensification rather than extensification.
Our sustained advocacy for the creation of what will be called the Ghana Tree Crops Development Authority (GTCDA) remains unabated, and soon we will be there! This will give the needed policy direction and thereby create the space for the development of the palm oil value chain in Ghana which is a necessary condition for the realization of the full potential of the oil palm value chain in wealth creation in the rural areas as well as contribute to the foreign exchange earnings of the nation.
Our fight against illicit trade and importation of vegetable cooking oil – a veritable threat to the survival of the local palm oil value chain, is far from over. We are collaborating with the MLGRD in the execution of the PERD is gaining traction in the oil palm growing district in Ghana.
We urge all actors in the value chain – oil palm cultivating farmers (small and large), millers (artisanal and large), refiners, and FMCG manufacturers, to register with the OPDAG so that we can together stand strong and work out the growth and development of the oil palm value chain to our own benefit -collectively and individually
Long live OPDAG. Long live Ghana
President, OPDAG
